John P. “Jack” Cooperider, a resident of Mebane, N.C., was born in Delaware, Ohio on July 13, 1936. James had lived most of his life in the heart of Ohio where he raised his family and continued to give back to his community and live in a state where he was loved.

Jack peacefully departed on February 3, 2013 at Marion General Hospital in Richwood, Ohio at age seventy-six.

Family was everything to Jack. As anyone who ever knew him would tell you, his family — he was married, a father and grandfather — came first.
Spouse and Children
On June 17, 1956, Jack wed Susie Dildine in the West Jefferson Baptist Church. Yes, they were married for over 50 years and together had the three beautiful children he raised:
- Karen Rob Cameron, of Helena, Montana.
- Phyllis (Mark) Roberts, 89, Blacklick, Ohio.
- Judy (Jim) Gray of Richwood, OH.
He was a proud grandfather with many grandchildren who he loved dearly, Jack had one grandson named Zander;

- Betsy (Tony) Baer
- Casey (Lucas) Daum

Other Family Members
He is preceded in death by his son-in-law Doug (Denise) Norton and survived by grandson Dani, Taylor and Phillip Norton. His brother, Bill (Marlene) Cooperider & sister, Marylou Cain also dearly loved him.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kellie Norton; three sisters, Jane Courter, Margie Hartley and Bernice Turney.
Career and Interests
Career
Jack was a line foreman for Ohio Edison where he worked 40 years before retirement. He was known for his work ethic and dedication to the job, leaving a lasting impression on co-workers.
Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, Jack pursued a number of hobbies and interests that kept him busy throughout his life. He was a genuine outdoorsman, an extreme motorcyclist who loved blowing the dust off of asphalt. He also loved hunting and being out in nature, but most of all he loved working in his shop tinkering and fixing things.
Jack enjoyed golf, often hitting the links with family and friends. He had a playful soul, dedicated humor and an unquenchable thirst for pranks.
Community and Church Involvement
Jack was a proud member of Green Camp Baptist Church, and over the years took part in many church activities. Faith was a central part of his life, and he had a presence in the church community where many will miss him.
Funeral and Memorial Services
Funeral services will be held for Jack on Saturday, February 9, 2013 starting at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, Ohio. The previous evening, visitors flocked from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM to pay their respects.
Rob Cameron and Judy Cramer officiated the service, celebrating Jack’s life and legacy. Jack passed away on Christmas Day 2020, but his funeral service was a time for family and friends to remember the meaningful life our dad had lived, and tell stories about him.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Kellie Norton and three sisters: Jane Courter, Margie Hartley and Bernice Turney. Forever Remembered And Loved By These Family Members Along With Jack
